Maybe it’s giving me French because the Marquise cut was first cut to resemble the lips of the kings mistress Madame De Pompadour. What a name. With a name like that you expect an entire cut of diamond to be made in your honour. And set with heart cut diamonds, it really works, this is a kiss of a ring, it’s dramatic and sexy.

These pictures were taken on a soaking wet day in London. The skies were leaden. I feel we should always mention weather conditions when pictures were taken, and this ring deserves extremely wet as a descriptor. In the sunshine, it will be utterly dazzling.
