This Princess Cut and Trapezoid ring is absolutely lovely. The Princess Cut diamond, first introduced in the early 1960s, is celebrated for its unique combination of brilliant sparkle and clean, square lines. This innovative cut quickly gained popularity for its ability to capture and reflect light, creating a scintillating display of fire and brilliance.

The other reason Princess cuts became so popular is that they were considerably cheaper per carat because there was so much less wastage during the cutting process. Diamond crystals naturally form in a shape that resembles an octahedron (a double pyramid with a square base), and the Princess Cut looks a bit like a rough diamond that’s been cleaved in half, and opened up to reveal a completely dazzling inside. 

Princess Cuts are of course meticulously cut to maximize their sparkle, but they do stay very close to Diamonds natural crystal shape, which gives them a special unadulterated diamond magic.

And this trilogy ring is a wonderful shape on the finger! The 1.20ct principal Princess cut is not just supported, it is fabulously cheered on by two supporting Trapezoid Cut Diamonds weighing in at a combined total weight of 0.60ctw, making the total carat weight a substantial, sweet spot weight of 1.80ctw.
